Express yourself!

The fall edition of the Scheepjes Yarn Bookazine is in stores, and I'm thrilled to share it with you!
The theme this time is expression and that is definitely reflected in the designs.
The designers have put their heart and soul in the no less than 16 designs and certainly expressed their expression!
I love the diversity of this issue and am proud to be a part of it.

De najaarseditie van het Scheepjes Yarn Bookazine ligt in de winkels en ik ben razend enthousiast!
​Het thema is dit keer expression en dat is zeker terug te vinden in de ontwerpen.
De ontwerpers hebben heel hun ziel en zaligheid in de maar liefst16 ontwerpen gestopt en zeker hun expressie geuit!
Ik houd van de diversiteit van deze uitgave en ben trots om er deel van uit te maken.

As you may know I love designing bags and when I was asked to design a bag in this theme I could let myself go.
I loved it, I chose my favorite technique and I picked some nice colors.
For the bag I was going to use "Scheepjes Catona" because this is my no 1 yarn for bags.
Sturdy and available in many colors.

Zoals jullie misschien wel weten ben ik dol op het ontwerpen van tassen en toen mij gevraagd werd een tas te ontwerpen in dit thema kon ik lekker los.
Heerlijk vond ik het, ik koos mijn favoriete techniek en zocht mooie kleuren bij elkaar.
Dat ik voor de tas Scheepjes Catona ging gebruiken stond meteen vast want dit is mijn no 1 garen voor tassen.
​Stevig en in veel kleuren verkrijgbaar.

I wanted a lot of detail in my bag.
As a basis I took the canvas backpack from my childhood in mind.
A basic shape with tartan and lots of buttons.
As a teenager my friends and I used to write all over the bag and we had brightly colored laces to close it.
I didn't do this, but as an extra detail I finished the bag with Scheepjes Furry Tales.
I thought this was a very nice touch, but if you don't like it, you can just leave it out ;)

Ik wilde veel detail in mijn tas.
Als basis nam ik de canvas rugzak uit mijn jeugd in gedachten.
Een basic vorm met schotse ruit en veel buttons.
Als tiener schreef ik en mijn vrienden de hele tas vol en we hadden felle gekleurde veters als sluiting.
Dit heb ik maar achterwege gelaten maar als extra detail heb ik de tas afgewerkt met Scheepjes Furry Tales.
Ik vond dit wel een erg leuke toevoeging, maar houd je hier niet van dan mag je dit natuurlijk ook gewoon weglaten ;)

I crocheted the buttons and the cool thing is that you can use them for other things too.
I have the rainbow button on my denim jacket 
The handles have bobble stitches so they look a bit like spikes, I thought this was a nice detail.
Moreover, this is practical because this way the hardware stays in place and the bag can be adjusted to any size.

Ik haakte de buttons en het leuke is dat je deze ook voor andere dingen kunt gebruiken.
​Zo heb ik een regenboog op mijn spijkerjasje ;)
De hengsels hebben bobbelsteken waardoor ze een beetje op spikes lijken, dit vond ik ook wel een leuk detail.
​Bovendien is dit praktisch want op deze manier blijft het hardware goed op z'n plaats en is de tas goed in elke maat in te stellen.

Of course, I also have my favorite in this edition.
And that is this Step Up Jumper by Cara Medus.
I absolutely love it and when I find the time I definitely want to make it for myself!

Natuurlijk heb ik ook mijn favoriet in deze editie.
En dat is deze Step Up Jumper van Cara Medus.
​Ik vind hem helemaal geweldig en als ik de tijd ervoor vind wil ik hem zeker gaan maken voor mezelf!

And if I were a kid I would definitely ask my 1 of my parents to make this Flutterby Cape (by Matt Farci) for me.
I think I would love crawling under this with my iPad or book on the couch when it gets a little chillier later.

​En als ik een kind was dan zou ik zeker aan mijn 1 van mijn ouders vragen of ze deze Flutterby Cape (van Matt Farci) voor mij willen maken.
​Ik denk dat ik hier heerlijk onder zou kruipen met mijn iPad of boek op de bank wanneer het straks iets frisser word.
